Chesterfield RUFC appoint PR agency

Chesterfield Panthers RUFC has appointed local public relations agency In the Works PR to raise awareness of the 93-year old Club following its move to a brand new, purpose-built ground in Dunston.

As part of raising the Club’s profile, In the Works PR will be responsible for designing and launching a new Club website, attracting corporate sponsors and raising awareness of the new clubhouse and private hire facilities.

Explaining the decision to appoint In the Works PR, Chesterfield Panthers RUFC’s president Michelle Lord, said: “The new ground and clubhouse facilities are second-to-none and present an excellent opportunity to attract sponsorship, new members and events. In the Works PR’s remit is to ensure that people know about us so that our income is maximised, helping us achieve our ultimate aim of making rugby accessible to all.”

The Club has 13 teams, including Men’s, Ladies’, juniors’ and minis. It also offers playing opportunities for girls and boys, aged 2-6 years old through its newly launched Chesterfield Panther Cubs.

Anna Melton, Director of In the Works PR said: “I’m delighted that In the Works PR was selected to be part of Chesterfield Panthers’ journey. The new clubhouse and ground is a brilliant example of the opportunities available and ongoing investment in Chesterfield.”

The move to Dunston follows the Club’s sale of its former ground at Stonegravels to Miller Homes last year. The Club is investing more than £2 million in the 24 acre site, which comprises three rugby pitches, a cricket pitch, football pitches, a multi- use games area (MUGA), substantial onsite parking and a clubhouse; all of which will benefit the local community and the facilities will be available for private hire as well as for use by the Club’s 400 plus members.

Currently in division four of the Midlands Division, Michelle Lord is confident the new facilities will contribute significantly to the 1st XV team’s performance and anticipates a good season and to push for promotion

While the pitches at the new Chesterfield Panthers RUFC ground are currently being played on, the clubhouse is not expected to open until June later this year. In addition to changing facilities, the clubhouse will also have a fully licensed bar and catering facilities for up to 120 people.
